Edinburgh Castle

i am goining to talk to you all about Edinburgh Castle. Edinburgh Castle is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Edinburgh.Over 1000 years of history is placed on top of that rock. Every year over 1 million people visit Edinburgh Castle. No matter what level of the castle you go to you always get an amazing veiw of Edinburgh. For examle if you were to look north from the castle you would have an amazing veiw of the Kingdom of Fife, imediatly below you, you have Princess Street. The chappel on the top of the castle is where they hold all the weddings. Up until now the weddings they have held i the chappel is only been royalty and the armed forces. Ths year they expect a rush of weddings as this summer it is supposed to be a heat wave during July and August. However the chappel only hold up to 25 peolpe. if you book your wedding in the castle as part of your package you can also get a tour of the the castle and  veiw of the crown jewls can also be arranged. The best time to visit the casle is on the Hogmany! It is the best night of the whole year and hundreds of  people go to see this event and everyone is just out to have a good time. We also have another big event called the Tatoo. The Tatoo is one of the biggest events of all time. Over 217,000 people go to watch this event and over 1 million people watch the event at home. At the end of the tatoo they play Auld Lang Syne and hold their neighbour hand. This event has been going on for many many years and it hasn't really changed all that much. However even though it hasn't changed people still seem to enjoy themselves. By Jo

hi ours names are laurz and danz we come from musselburgh in scotland .What is it like over in poland.were doing a project on restraunts and transport.the restraunts we have here aree fast food restraunts such s madonalds,burger king and lots more.Also we have chinese and indian food.We have meat restraunts.Aswell.the transport we have over here is buses taxis cars moterbikes scooters and so on .

Off to France

Hi this is Melissa and Caitlin.How are you?Yes we are fine thanks.The weather has been quite good here recently,for a change.We are going to France with the school tomorow,we cant wait.Gillian who is also in our group is coming too.Tasha and Kristi and Lauren who are also our friends are coming also to France.Im gonig shoping at Ocean Terminal tonight which is a big shopping centre in Leith.

SHOPS

Most of Musselburgh's shops are on the high street. The high street is bout 3/4 of  mile long and has shops on either side all the way a long. The shops include food shops  such as Farmfoods , somerfield and iceland. Clothes shop ch as turret . It has thew banks like abbey naional and royal bankof scotland. It has  a thew paper shops like R.S.McColls which sells sweets, papers, cards , cigarettes that type of thing . It has a woolworths which sells almost everything as well from CDs to bottles of juice. There are charity shops and there is a pet shop. At the far end there is an orthodontist, two hairdressers and an ice-cream shop. At the other end there is a restaurant called Caprice and slightly further on from that there is a large supermarket called Tesco. It has a petrol station. There are also bakers such as Greggs and Fords and there is various other shops.

Yo dudes AND dudettes!!!

Hi,this is Jason,Mike,Dave,Ross and me,Kev again.In Musselburgh,there are not much stuff to do,but there are quite a  few things to do,1 of them is skateboarding for me,the streets of Musselburgh are great for skating but doesn't have much parks to skate on.The worse places to skate are the Promenads because theres to much people walking on there and it's right beside the beach.Hello this is Jason now.Despite what Kev just said there are also some leisure facilities,including the Sports Centre.In Musselburgh there are a lot of feilds because the soil in East Lothian is one of the best in Scotland.Musselburgh is also not so good for shops there are only a dozen or so.Luckily Musselburgh is near the capital city of Scotland,called Edinburgh.Hiya!! This is Mike ,i havn't got much to say,but Musselburgh is a nice place to stay in,it's sometimes boring!!!:(   Only if there is something good to do!!! how is Poland? Is there anything fun to do there? reply ASAP.THANKS!!!!C YA!!!

Only one day to go till France!

Hello gillian and wendy here again, the weather is ok but not great.Gillian,Caitlin and Melissa ae going to france tomorrow night also our other friends Natasha and Lauren. School today is quite boring as usual. Gillian is playing in a football game tonight, Wendy is not sure what she is doing.

It is windy today and it is really cold as yesterday was really sunny and probably one of the sunniest and hotest days we have had this year. It was reaching temperatures around 20degrees!!! What is the weather like in Poland?

Interior of Newhailes House

Much of the original decoration and furnishing has survived intact, though worn. The Trust is working to conserve the house in such a way as to leave it as ‘untouched’ by modern hands as possible, retaining the mellowness of its interiors rather than attempting the recreation of an immaculate dwelling as first built. The important 18th-century designed landscape is a source of intriguing discovery, revealing beneath the overgrowth a raised walkway, grotto, woodland walks and a wealth of local wildlife. Ongoing research, including archaeological work, examination of the diaries of Christian Dalrymple and other historical documents, will help inform the Trust’s perspectives for restoration of the landscape. Visitors will be able to witness this gradual process rather than seeing freshly restored gardens.

Shops in Musselburgh

There are not that many shops in Musselburgh but the ones there are, are situated in the main high street which can be very busy. There are two supermarkets but the biggest main one is tesco. The nearest place for clothes shopping is the fort kinnaird. There are two dvd rental shops,  three banks, a few clothes shops and lots of take - away food stores!
